Silvarerum
Illustrations & book design
For this university project, I explored the concept of Silva Rerum, which translates to “forest of things,” an old Polish tradition of compiling stories and memories in a free-form, often spontaneous style. Drawing inspiration from my childhood, I created a short narrative centered around the joyful, communal experience of making dumplings—capturing the warmth and humor of these moments.
The illustrations were crafted using linocut prints, which added a tactile and nostalgic feel to the book. The bold, textured linocut style brought the simple yet meaningful memories to life, emphasizing the handmade, authentic nature of the story.
This project allowed me to combine storytelling with traditional printmaking techniques, creating a unique, personal interpretation of Silva Rerum.
