81 Portraits

Sketchbook Study

This project was a personal exploration of portrait drawing, inspired by the well-known “100 Heads” challenge. While I didn’t reach the full hundred, I completed 81 portraits in my sketchbook, focusing on studying the human face and refining my technique using only basic tools—pen and pencil.

Each portrait served as a study in structure, expression, and form, pushing me to experiment with different approaches while keeping the process loose and intuitive. The challenge was less about the final count and more about the discipline of consistent practice, observation, and capturing character through minimal tools.

This series became a deep dive into portraiture, helping me strengthen my understanding of facial features, proportions, and line work—all through the simple act of drawing, one face at a time.
